Short bus trip to Nha Trang after lunch (50 km). This coast town has been famous for its exciting beach life since the days of the empire. Palm trees and flamboyant sites line the six kilometers of wide sand beach and promenade. Today numerous hotels, hostels, bars, soup kitchens and seafood restaurants compete for international tourists. The vibe is a mix between Rimini, Nizza and the Black Sea. The town boasts a picturesque harbor with an armada of colorful fishing boats, an important temple with an impressive Buddha statue and the Alexandre Yersin Museum, devoted to the famous Swiss explorer and discoverer of the pest bacillus who settled here in 1893.

Today we explore the four islands off the coast by boat. On our way we pass by a farm for fish, prawns and lobster. Time to swim and snorkel! We have lunch at a fishing village that can only be reached in swimming baskets. To round off the day we pay a visit to the aquarium on Mieu Island.
Today we kick back at the kilometers long sand beach. We may have a mineral mud bath or a massage right at the beach. In the late afternoon we depart for Suoi Cat to enjoy a private BBQ in the middle of unspoiled nature (alternative: seafood BBQ on Hon Tre Island).
This morning we continue our Individual Vietnam tour by taking a private van heading for Phan Thiet, a small fishing town famous for its fish sauce Nuoc Mam. Besides this, nearby Mui Ne peninsula boasts some of world-class beaches. In between the beach action, we rest beneath palm trees or hike the ups and downs of the red sand dunes. Who wants to have a golf match at Ocean Dunes Golf Club? We swim and relax at the white beach throughout the afternoon. Passing by emerald-green rice paddies we drive towards the south. The Mekong Delta does not carry the name “Vietnam’s Rice Barn” for nothing. My Tho is the most well-known and most fertile area in the Mekong Delta and serves as the departure point for tours in the Delta area. On a boat trip on the numerous channels of the area, we visit a fruit garden offering a wide range of exotic fruits to try. Another highlight is the “elephant ear fish meal” that we witness at an idyllic restaurant on the river bank. We spend the night in Saigon.
This morning, Vietnam Airlines brings us to Vietnam’s biggest island: Phu Quoc in the Gulf of Siam. Check in into the hotel at the island’s west coast nearby Duong Dong, the main city and famous in Vietnam for its brilliant fish sauce. The hilly and green island is Vietnam’s biggest island with 625 km². About 20,000 people live in the island’s fishing villages. Among the 40 km sand beach, quiet and lined with palm trees, in the south-east and west is Vietnam’s only beach with a sunset: Bau Truong or Long Beach. The coast north of the main city Duong Dong is rockier. Beaches are often undeveloped and can only be reached via dust tracks. Some are even restricted military zones. The water is crystal clear and makes the island one of Vietnam’s best diving spots. Underwater visibility is up to 50 m.

We explore the island on motobikes. Passing by pepper and cashew plantations the track leads us deeper and deeper into the jungle. At pristine Cua Can Beach, we have a light lunch, swim in azure blue waters and then we go on to the fishing village Ganh Dau on the north coast. On the way back we stop at a pepper plantation and a fish sauce factory. Afternoon is free.
Today we explore the southern tip of Phu Quoc. We ride our rented motobikes along the 40 km of still undeveloped west coast to An Thoi Village. We visit the bustling river market of the small fishing village. On the return trip we stop at Bai Sao Beach, everybody’s favourite due to its white powder sand. The afternoon is free.
Free time or program on request (dive or snorkel trips, boat fishing tour).
Today we say farewell to the island. Flight back to Saigon and return flight home. End our Individual Vietnam Tour.
